Help! Our super-sighted shark and speedy tuna need names
Come up with names for the hammerhead shark and yellowfin tuna in the Lighthouse & Ocean Play area in the Palm Court at Gateway, and you could be a winner.
“The creatures have been beautifully replicated and we’ve grown quite attached to them,” says Gateway Theatre of Shopping Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley. “The natural progression is for them to have names.”
The fish were chosen, along with the iconic uMhlanga lighthouse as typical species found off our coast. Kids can climb through, over, on and under the hammerhead, although he’s a mean predator in real-life. Because of his long head, his eyes are set extremely wide apart so that he can see all round. Local fishermen will know that the yellowfin tuna are among the fastest and strongest fish in the Indian Ocean, with streamlined bodies shaped like torpedoes.
“We can’t wait to see what our visitors suggest as names for these three,” says Shelley. Entry forms for the competition are available from the restaurants in the Palm Court, and entrants can place their completed entry form in the box provided opposite the play area (at Entrance 5). Great prizes, including Gateway gift cards, and tenant hampers are up for grabs if we get hooked by your suggestion.
